Data Security Analyst

Salary: $68,000 - 113,000 per year Requirements:

• We require a bachelors degree and 2–4 years of relevant experience, or 6 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
• We require U.S. citizenship.
• We require the ability to work U.S. East Coast business hours.
• We need a solid understanding of data loss prevention (DLP) technologies, encryption methods, and secure file transfer protocols.
• We value strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a sharp eye for detail.
• We expect excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technical topics to non-technical audiences.
• We look for working knowledge of security tools and technologies related to DLP and data protection.
• We prefer experience with cloud environments, network security, and information security principles.
• We need the ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities in a fast-changing environment.
• Preferred qualifications include relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Information Security Administrator Associate, or ITILv4.
• Additional experience with DLP platforms such as Digital Guardian, Microsoft Purview, Forcepoint, or Symantec is a plus.
• Experience with data classification tools such as Microsoft Purview, Varonis, Amazon Macie, Fortra, or Netwrix is preferred.
• Familiarity with cryptographic capabilities such as S/MIME certificates, secrets, or data encryption keys is desirable.
• Experience handling tickets in BMC or ServiceNow is beneficial.

• We support and deliver multiple complex data security projects and company-wide initiatives within defined scope, timeline, and budget.
• We apply technical expertise, critical thinking, and sound judgment to resolve issues, uncover improvement opportunities, and develop practical solutions that strengthen data security services.
• We help operate Guidehouse Information Protection security systems to safeguard company and client data in line with standards such as NIST SP 800-171, NIST SP 800-53, ISO 27001, ISO 20000, HIPAA, and HITRUST.
• We support the secure handling of information transferred through approved electronic methods.
• We assist with implementing and managing data loss prevention (DLP) controls to reduce the risk of unauthorized access and data exfiltration.
• We monitor and assess data-sharing activity across the organization to ensure alignment with security policies and regulatory requirements.
• We help identify, classify, and manage sensitive information across the business.
• We participate in data loss prevention investigations.
• We maintain accurate process, investigation, and compliance documentation and prepare management reports.
• We partner with IT and security teams to improve the overall security posture and align efforts with organizational objectives.
• We interact with employees to receive requests, triage issues, troubleshoot, and resolve data security-related concerns.
• We report to the Data Security Associate Director.
