Equipment Maintenance TechnicianCatalent's Chelsea, Massachusetts site—often referred to as the Boston location—is a global Center of Excellence for spray dry dispersion (SDD) and dry powder inhaler (DPI) capsule manufacturing and packaging, supporting inhalation drug products from clinical development through commercial launch. Located at 190 Everett Avenue, the approximately 96,000?square?foot GMP facility features ISO 8 production suites, high?potency containment capabilities, and advanced spray drying equipment, including multiple large?scale GMP spray dryers. The site offers integrated services such as powder processing, capsule filling, blister packaging, and on?site quality control and analytical testing, with capacity to produce up to 100 million capsules annually. Strategically positioned just minutes from Boston Logan International Airport and within the Greater Boston life sciences hub, the Chelsea site plays a critical role in Catalent's global inhalation network and regulatory?compliant manufacturing operations.Position Summary: We have an opportunity for an Equipment Maintenance Technician to join our team. In this role, you will provide maintenance and technical support for the service and repair of production and ancillary equipment at the Chelsea, MA facility. You will support spray drying and downstream operations by ensuring quality, compliant, and timely equipment service to minimize downtime and maintain optimal performance. You will also provide technical assistance to operators to keep operations running smoothly.Shift: 2nd Shift: Saturday - Wednesday, 2:00pm-10:30pm Location: Chelsea, MA 100% OnsiteThe RoleProvide support for validation, calibration, and preventative maintenance of all GMP equipment and systemsDiagnose and repair electronic, pneumatic, and control system issues on GMP equipmentDiagnose, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on manufacturing and packaging equipmentPerform preventative maintenance tasks on GMP and non-GMP equipment.Execute equipment-related work orders in support of OperationsManage and order equipment spare parts inventoryTroubleshoot problems during equipment set-up and change-overAssist in design and implementation of engineering controlsAssist process engineers as neededOther duties as assignedThe CandidateMinimum RequirementsHigh School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) is requiredMinimum of 3 years of relevant experience, preferably in a GMP or pharmaceutical environmentBasic to moderate computer skills, including e-mail, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Internet Explorer, and preventative maintenance softwareLifting up to 40 lbs.Preferred Skills & BackgroundExperience in service and repair of electrical equipment and systemsExperience in service and repair of mechanical equipment and systemsUnderstanding of Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) systemsPayThe anticipated hourly rate for this position in MA is $33.65 – $40.87 Plus Bonus.
