Ludico is an exciting new restaurant concept from Tribeca Hospitality Group, bringing together fresh, vibrant, and transportive European flavors in an elevated yet approachable dining experience.

We are seeking an experienced, polished, and hospitality-driven Maître D' to join our opening team. This highly visible leadership role serves as the face of the restaurant and is responsible for creating memorable guest experiences through exceptional hospitality, relationship-building, and operational excellence.

The ideal candidate is a true people person who thrives on engaging with guests, building lasting relationships, recognizing VIPs and regulars, and ensuring every guest feels welcomed and valued. This individual must possess exceptional emotional intelligence, strong communication skills, and a genuine passion for hospitality.

Position Summary

As the Maître D', you will oversee reservations, guest relations, seating strategy, and the overall flow of the dining room. You will work closely with managers, captains, hosts, and the culinary team to ensure a seamless guest experience from arrival through departure.

This role is responsible for cultivating guest loyalty, maintaining reservation systems, managing guest preferences, and ensuring that every interaction reflects Ludico's commitment to hospitality excellence.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and engage guests with warmth, professionalism, and genuine hospitality.
• Manage reservations, waitlists, table assignments, and guest communications.
• Build relationships with regular guests, VIPs, concierge partners, local businesses, and community members.
• Maintain detailed guest profiles, preferences, special occasions, dietary restrictions, and dining history.
• Oversee seating strategies to maximize guest satisfaction and operational efficiency.
• Utilize SevenRooms, Resy, and OpenTable to manage reservations, guest notes, VIP recognition, and dining room flow.
• Collaborate with management and service teams to ensure smooth dining room operations and exceptional guest experiences.
• Address guest concerns and service recovery opportunities with professionalism, discretion, and urgency.
• Maintain a visible and active presence throughout service.
• Assist with private dining inquiries, special events, and large-party reservations.
• Lead by example and help foster a hospitality-first culture throughout the restaurant.
• Ensure host stand operations are organized, professional, and guest-focused at all times.
• Support management in driving guest retention, repeat business, and positive guest feedback.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Maître D', Lead Host, Reservation Manager, Guest Relations Manager, or similar leadership role in an upscale or fine dining restaurant.
• Extensive experience with SevenRooms, Resy, and OpenTable reservation platforms.
• Experience using Toast POS preferred.
• Strong understanding of table management, reservation pacing, guest relations, and dining room operations.
• Proven ability to build guest loyalty, recognize VIP clientele, and create exceptional dining experiences.
• Luxury hotel, concierge, private club, Michelin-starred, or highly rated fine dining experience is strongly preferred.
• Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
• Ability to remain calm, professional, and solution-oriented in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Strong leadership presence with the ability to motivate and mentor host team members.
• Professional appearance, polished demeanor, and commitment to hospitality excellence.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and comfortably navigate stairs throughout the restaurant.
