Controller

Title: Controller Location: Houston, Texas Duration: Permanent Compensation: $170,000 - $180,000 Work Requirements: US Citizen, GC Holders or Authorized to Work in the U.S. Skillset / Experience: We are seeking an experienced Controller with a strong background in the construction industry to lead and manage all accounting and financial operations. This role will oversee project-based accounting, ensure accurate financial reporting, and partner with leadership to support strategic decision-making. Key Responsibilities Oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and financial reporting Manage job cost accounting, including tracking budgets, actual costs, and project profitability Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements Ensure accuracy of WIP (Work-in-Progress) schedules, percentage-of-completion accounting, and revenue recognition Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management processes Supervise and mentor accounting staff, improving processes and internal controls Ensure compliance with GAAP and industry-specific regulations Partner with project managers and operations teams to monitor contract performance and cost variances Oversee audits, tax filings, and reporting requirements Manage banking relationships, bonding/insurance requirements, and financial risk Qualifications Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field highly preferred 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with significant experience in construction accounting Strong knowledge of job costing, WIP reporting, and percentage-of-completion accounting Experience with construction software (e.g., Sage 300/100, Viewpoint, Foundation, or similar) Proven leadership experience managing accounting teams Advanced Excel skills and strong financial analysis capabilities Excellent communication and problem-solving skills INSPYR Solutions provides Equal Employment Opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, or genetics.
