The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC Swiss-type lathes for production runs.
- Perform in-process quality inspections using various metrology tools.
- Read and interpret blueprints, G-code, and engineering specifications.
- Troubleshoot machine alarms, adjust offsets, and resolve tooling issues.
- Load raw materials and unload finished parts, ensuring proper material handling.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on machinery.
Recommended Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years experience operating CNC Swiss-style lathes.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
- Demonstrated ability to perform in-process quality checks using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, comparators).
- Experience with G-code and M-code programming for offsets and minor program adjustments.
- Strong understanding of tooling selection and insert grades for various materials.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve common machining issues.
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with CAD/CAM software (e.g., PartMaker, Esprit) for programming and simulation.
- Strong understanding of GD&T principles and their application in measurement and inspection.
- Proven ability to perform preventative maintenance on CNC machinery beyond basic tasks.
- Familiarity with a variety of precision measuring tools and techniques, including CMM operation.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills in diagnosing and resolving complex machining issues.
