The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities
- Develop CNC programs for Lathe machines using CAD/CAM software.
- Analyze engineering drawings and specifications to determine optimal machining processes.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, holders, and workholding devices.
- Simulate and verify CNC programs to ensure collision avoidance and part accuracy.
- Troubleshoot and optimize existing CNC programs to improve efficiency and reduce cycle times.
- Collaborate with machinists and engineers to resolve programming and machining issues.
- Document and maintain CNC programs, setup sheets, and tooling lists.
Recommended Qualifications
- Proficient in G-code and M-code programming for 2-axis CNC lathes.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T specifications.
- Experience with CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360, SolidWorks CAM).
- Strong understanding of tooling, workholding, and insert selection for various materials.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in CNC lathe programming in a manufacturing environment.
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with CAD/CAM software beyond basic part modeling (e.g., SolidWorks CAM, Mastercam).
- Ability to perform minor machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Experience with other CNC machining processes (e.g., milling, EDM).
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles.
- CMM operation experience for part inspection and verification.
