ORGANIZATIONAL BACKGROUND

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Redlands-Riverside has been proudly serving children and families since 1967. We are one of the premier non-profits in the Inland Empire and looking for an incredible Sunrise Site Rep to join our dynamic team. We are a highly driven and mission-focused organization in need of an energetic, people-focused, organized, and committed professional to fill the critical role of Sunrise Site Rep. The Club’s impact extends throughout several sites across the Inland Empire, Redlands, and areas of the High Desert.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Directly responsible for overseeing operations at assigned elementary, middle, or high school before or after school program.

Sunrise Site Rep are responsible for the supervision of the Sunrise Youth Leaders, the development and implementation of daily activities, the scheduling of staff members, and for assisting with administrative duties. They ensure the safety and quality of their before or after school program in all aspects.

KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):

Prepare Youth for Success

• Create an environment that facilitates the achievement of Youth Development

Outcomes:

• Promote and stimulate program participation with members.
• Provide guidance and role modeling to members.
• Provide homework help

Program Implementation

• Effectively implement and administer services and activities for students.
• Ensure safety of students is considered when implementing programs and activities.
• Ensure program space/area are organized and cleaned during and after use.
• Support EXL/CAPS Extended Learning Supervisor with daily dismissal.

Supervision of Youth

• Provide guidance, affirm positive behavior and act as a role model and mentor to youth.
• Provide a safe environment through active supervision, setting clear expectations and maintaining clean program areas.
• Never leaving members unsupervised and implement and follow School behavioral guidelines.

Professionalism

• Provide leadership to program staff.
• Ensure a productive work environment by participating in staff meetings as required by supervisor or senior staff.
• Maintain a good reputation and moral conduct outside of work, in the community and on social media networks.
• Adhere to organizational policies and procedures as described in the organization’s Employee Handbook, Staff Code of Ethics, and elsewhere.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• May participate in special programs and/or events.
• Quality Assurance Coordinators (QAC) with reviewing payroll hours of staff at assigned location.
• Attend all required trainings and staff meetings.
• Demonstrate effective problem solving when challenges arise.
• Required to attend Site Coordinator scheduled meetings throughout the year and complete Site Coordinator’s Academy within their first year of employment.
• Ensure program staff supervises all students at all times, from dismissal every school day until their signing out to go home and ensures staff will protect the health, safety, and well-being of all students during all activities in all environments.
• Site Coordinators are be expected to turn in a copy of their planned drills to their school site principal by the first day of school and ensure all staff is knowledgeable and prepared to implement emergency procedures pertaining to “Fire Drills”, “Earthquake Drills”, “Lockdowns”, “Lockouts”, “Restraining Orders”, and “Evacuation Drills” effectively.
• Responsible for students who are late being picked up and to follow the late pick-up procedures.

RELATIONSHIPS:

Internal: Maintains close, daily contact with Club staff (professional and volunteer), Club members, and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain guidelines/instructions ; instruct; and advise/counsel.

External: Maintains contact with external community groups, schools, members' parents and others to assist in resolving problems.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Must have at least 48 semester/72 quarter college units, College Degree or pass School District ESSA test.
• Candidates must be 18 years or older (21 for High School Sites).
• Experience working with children (volunteer work counts).
• Bilingual Spanish is a plus.
• Knowledge of youth development stages.
• Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior.
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
• Ability to plan and implement quality activities for youth.
• Ability to organize and supervise youth in a safe environment.
• Valid State Driver License or California ID card.
• Must clear TB, Drug Screen and Fingerprint check.
• CPR & First Aid Certifications within 90 of hire.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Ability to walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis. Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, carts, sports equipment, etc. and reach overhead. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. and multi task. The job requires about 85% walking and/or standing, and 15% office work and prepping site. This position will be in-person working at a school site. Exposure to noise. Will work inside and outside.
