Focus will be on driving the needed projects, programs and assignments throughout the organization aimed at improving operational and clinical reliability and achieving measurable results. They will work closely with clinical and operational leadership and team members throughout the system to design and help execute critical initiatives in line with top strategic focus areas.Essential FunctionsLead Systems Engineering ProjectsLead systems design activities that translate stakeholder needs into scalable, reliable, and operationally feasible solutionsAssess end-to-end system impacts, dependencies, failure modes, and unintended consequences of proposed interventionsEngage stakeholders to identify adoption barriers, operational risks, and implementation requirementsDevelop system design and implementation strategies that support sustainable organizational changeAdvance Systems Thinking, Safety, and Reliability PrinciplesApply systems engineering, resilience engineering, design thinking and process improvement concepts to the design and improvement of complex healthcare systemsPromote systems-level approaches that connect people, process, technology, information flow, environment, and governanceCoach and Align StakeholdersFacilitate cross-functional alignment among clinical, operational, technology, quality, safety, and leadership stakeholdersProvide coaching on systems thinking, requirements development, process design, measurement, risk identification, and decision analysisSupport teams in translating qualitative and quantitative data into actionable system design and improvement decisionsSupport Evaluation, Research, and Program DisseminationContribute to internal and external dissemination of systems engineering methods, implementation lessons, and measurable outcomesParticipate in publications, presentations, and research activities related to healthcare systems engineering, patient safety, quality, reliability, and operational performanceQualificationsRequiredBachelor's Degree or equivalent in Mechanical, Process, or Industrial Engineering; Human Kinetics/Kinesiology; Human Factors or Ergonomics Engineering; Product Design; Systems Engineering; Organizational Design; Organizational Psychology; Sociology; Economics or related field10 years of deep experience with process improvement, project management, change management, and/or systems engineering/design methodologies and models5 years of demonstrated competence and experience leading and coaching on improvement initiatives, training programs, and developing large scale programs/portfolios/roadmaps of workCRT-Lean Bronze Certification – within 1 year after hirePreferredMaster's degree in Mechanical, Process, or Industrial Engineering; Human Kinetics/Kinesiology; Human Factors or Ergonomics Engineering; Product Design; Systems Engineering; Organizational Design; Organizational Psychology; Sociology; Economics or related field1 year of experience with human centered design frameworks for problem solving, human factors design tools and methods, and/or design thinking methodologies1 year of experience with organizational design theory, agile teaming/agile transformation, matrixed organizing for agile work1 year of Research methods and product design experienceAbout Corewell HealthAs a team member at Corewell Health, you will play an essential role in delivering personalized health care to our patients, members and our communities.
