Junior AI Specialist

Our client, a leading law firm in New York City, is seeking a Junior AI Specialist to support the evaluation, testing, and responsible adoption of generative AI tools across the firm. This role will work closely with attorneys and teams across Knowledge Management, Information Services, IT, and Information Security to support AI pilots, prompt testing, workflow documentation, training, and user adoption.

The ideal candidate is an early-career professional with hands-on experience using generative AI tools and developing or testing prompts in a business, academic, or professional-services environment.

Responsibilities

AI Pilots & Workflow Support

\n
• Observe and document legal and business workflows and identify opportunities for practical AI applications.
\n
• Develop, test, and refine prompts for common legal and business use cases.
\n
• Support evaluations and pilot programs for approved generative AI and legal technology platforms.
\n
• Document test cases, results, approved use cases, limitations, and user feedback.
\n
• Assist with the development and testing of AI-supported workflows for areas such as contract review, legal research, matter intake, billing, document management, and compliance.
\n

AI Applications & Automation

\n
• Assist with the development and testing of lightweight AI applications, agents, and workflow automation tools.
\n
• Support senior team members with low-code/no-code and AI-assisted development platforms.
\n
• Document functionality, limitations, and intended use cases for internal stakeholders.
\n
• Gather user feedback and help improve AI tools and workflows.
\n

Project & Team Support

\n
• Assist with project plans, timelines, meeting notes, action items, status updates, and pilot tracking.
\n
• Coordinate with attorneys, professional staff, IT, Information Security, and technology vendors.
\n
• Follow established policies regarding confidentiality, privacy, access controls, and secure use of AI tools.
\n
• Escalate technical, security, or workflow concerns as appropriate.
\n

Training & Adoption

\n
• Provide day-to-day AI support to attorneys and business professionals and escalate more complex questions.
\n
• Assist with demonstrations, office hours, practice-group training, and user-support sessions.
\n
• Create and maintain quick-start guides, FAQs, sample prompts, training materials, screenshots, checklists, and other knowledge resources.
\n
• Provide one-on-one guidance on AI workflows, prompting, databases, content organization, and related legal technology processes.
\n
• Support firm-wide AI innovation events, including logistics, materials, participation tracking, and follow-up.
\n

AI Content & Knowledge Management

\n
• Organize and maintain content supporting teams, matters, and practice groups.
\n
• Support approval workflows and user permissions in accordance with firm policies.
\n
• Help maintain AI-enabled databases and knowledge bases, including organizing content from document management systems for accurate retrieval and use with legal AI tools.
\n

Requirements

\n
• Bachelor’s degree required; 1–2 years of post-college experience preferred.
\n
• Foundational experience using generative AI tools, developing or testing prompts, documenting workflows, or supporting technology-enabled projects.
\n
• Strong comfort level with common productivity and AI tools and the ability to learn new platforms quickly.
\n
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain basic AI concepts clearly and professionally.
\n
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
\n
• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
\n
• Interest in generative AI, legal technology, and responsible technology adoption.
\n

Preferred Skills

\n
• Experience in a law firm, legal services, professional services, or other confidential business environment.
\n
• Familiarity with legal technology, knowledge management, document management, or legal research platforms such as iManage, Westlaw, LexisNexis, or similar tools.
\n
• Experience supporting training, user enablement, change adoption, or technology documentation.
\n
• Exposure to low-code/no-code platforms, data tools, or AI-assisted development.
\n

Work Environment

\n
• Full-time, non-exempt position based in New York, NY
\n
• Hybrid schedule: 3 days in the office, with Tuesdays and Wednesdays required; 2 days remote
\n
• Overtime above 35 hours may be required based on business needs
\n
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
\n
