Vice President of Supply Chain

Job Description

Position Overview 
The Vice President of Supply Chain will lead supply chain strategy and execution for the Corrections business, ensuring products flow reliably and efficiently across a complex, multi-site service environment. This leader will oversee demand and supply planning, replenishment, inventory management, supplier service performance, product flow, and working capital optimization. The role will partner closely with Procurement, Category Management, Operations, Finance, distribution partners, and field leadership to improve availability, service, cost, and supply continuity. 

Job Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the supply chain strategy in alignment with Corrections business priorities, client commitments, growth objectives, and financial goals. 
• Lead demand planning, supply planning, replenishment, inventory management, purchasing execution, product flow, transfers, and dropship operations; own forecast accuracy and demand-plan quality.
• Own inventory performance, including inventory levels, turns, days of supply, working capital, excess and obsolete inventory, and stockout reduction; reducing unfilled item demand and maintaining accurate, right-sized inventory quantities.
• Lead root-cause analysis and corrective-action processes for unfilled demand, stockouts, excess inventory, forecast misses, and supplier service failures, with clear functional ownership and measurable recovery plans.
• Establish and govern inventory and replenishment policies, including min/max levels, safety stock, reorder points, lead-time assumptions, service-level targets, and exception management to optimize product availability while minimizing working capital and excess inventory.
• Establish demand exception-management processes for new items, contract wins/losses, mobilizations, significant customer orders, discontinued items, and material deviations from historical demand to protect inventory availability and working capital.
• Lead SKU rationalization efforts, including review of Tier C and D products, to simplify the assortment and reduce carrying costs. 
• Lead the supply-side component of S&OP/SIOP processes, aligning demand, inventory, supply capacity, and financial plans. 
• Ensure reliable product availability across a geographically dispersed network of correctional facilities and related distribution channels. 
• Partner with Procurement and Category Management on supplier requirements while maintaining clear accountability between supply chain execution and strategic sourcing. 
• Partner with Procurement and Category Management to establish supplier service requirements and SLAs, including lead time, fill rate, OTIF, capacity, quality, and continuity expectations, and hold suppliers accountable for operational performance.
• Monitor and improve supplier service, capacity, lead-time reliability, fill rates, and on-time, in-full performance; escalate and resolve material supply risks. 
• Develop business continuity and supply risk mitigation plans to support essential operations during shortages, disruptions, mobilizations, and demand shifts. 
• Provide strategic oversight of transportation, distribution, and network flow to improve service and total delivered cost. 
• Drive process standardization, data visibility, planning discipline, and technology adoption across supply chain operations. 
• Develop and manage inventory and supply chain financial plans, including inventory investment, working capital, excess and obsolete inventory exposure, service-cost tradeoffs, and productivity commitments in partnership with Finance.
• Establish performance dashboards and operating rhythms for forecast accuracy, fill rate, OTIF, inventory turns, days of supply, stockouts, working capital, supplier service, and total supply chain cost. 
• Build, lead, and develop a high-performing, geographically dispersed team with clear accountability and a continuous improvement mindset. 
• Partner with field operations and functional leaders to translate client and operational requirements into practical supply chain solutions. 
• Communicate supply chain performance, risks, tradeoffs, and corrective actions to executive leadership and key stakeholders. 

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business Administration, Engineering, Finance, or a related field; advanced degree preferred. 
• Extensive progressive leadership experience in supply chain, inventory planning, replenishment, distribution, logistics, or operations. 
• Experience leading supply chain operations in a large, complex, multi-site environment; foodservice, hospitality, distribution, retail, facilities services, healthcare, or corrections experience preferred. 
• Demonstrated success improving inventory productivity, working capital, service levels, forecast accuracy, and supply continuity. 
• Strong understanding of demand planning, supply planning, replenishment, inventory optimization, supplier performance, logistics, and S&OP/SIOP. 
• Demonstrated experience establishing inventory planning disciplines, including demand forecasting, safety stock, min/max parameters, replenishment policies, and exception-based inventory management in a high-SKU distribution environment.
• Financial acumen with the ability to evaluate cost, service, inventory, and working capital tradeoffs. 
• Experience leading transformation, process standardization, technology enablement, and continuous improvement initiatives. 
• Strong analytical skills and experience using planning, inventory, and reporting systems to drive decisions and accountability; experience with HIMpact or similar inventory/procurement systems preferred, and familiarity with Oracle Fusion or comparable large-scale ERP platforms is a plus.
• Executive-level communication and influencing skills, including the ability to work effectively across Operations, Procurement, Finance, and other functional teams. 
• Proven ability to lead and develop senior leaders and geographically dispersed teams. 
• Ability to operate effectively in a dynamic environment, manage competing priorities, and lead through ambiguity and change. 
• Ability to travel based on business needs
