About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 24 months of Medical Surgical experience in a hospital or medical center setting, with post-op surgical experience highly preferred. License: Active Iowa license or compact/multistate license required. Certifications: BLS (AHA) required. Must-Have: - 24 months of current Medical Surgical experience required. - PCA and Heparin experience required. - Experience with EPIC electronic medical records required. Description: We are seeking a Registered Nurse for a Medical Surgical unit. The position involves working night shifts with a schedule of 4x12 hour shifts, totaling 48 hours per week. The nurse will be responsible for caring for patients undergoing hip and knee surgeries, mastectomies, and abdominal surgeries. The nurse will manage drips such as PCA and Heparin. The unit supports an emotional support canine for patient interaction. Floating across various locations may be required. Candidates must be able to work 1-2 of the upcoming winter holidays unless the unit is closed. Professional references from direct supervisors or managers within the last 24 months are preferred.
