We are looking to hire a CNC Machinist II in Gardena, CA . This is a Contract-to-Hire opportunity to join our an aerospace manufacturing company.

Position Summary:

With minimal assistance, the CNC Machinist II will operate 2-5 axis CNC and automated machine cells, as well as standalone machining equipment. This role requires experience with machine setup, tooling, offsets, fixture preparation, CNC program adjustments, blueprint reading, and precision inspection equipment. The ideal candidate will have experience in a manufacturing or aerospace machining environment and possess strong knowledge of CNC machining processes, quality standards, and shop safety procedures.

Pay Range

• $25.00 - $32.00 per hour
• Based on experience and qualifications

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Safely operate CNC machining equipment while following PPE and facility safety guidelines
• Set up and operate 2-axis, 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis CNC machines and automated machine cells
• Review shop travelers and verify prior operations are complete before beginning production
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, GD&T, shop travelers, and work instructions
• Prepare and install fixtures, cutting tools, tooling offsets, and machine setups
• Load, edit, and adjust CNC programs, G-codes, and M-codes as needed
• Monitor machine performance and make feed, speed, and tooling adjustments
• Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections using precision measuring instruments
• Utilize micrometers, calipers, comparators, height gauges, air gauges, and bench inspection tools
• Troubleshoot machining issues and coordinate with supervisors or lead machinists when needed
• Maintain quality standards and production efficiency in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Complete required production and quality documentation accurately

Required Qualifications

• 2-4 years of CNC machining experience in a manufacturing or aerospace environment
• Experience operating CNC mills, lathes, or multi-axis machining centers
• Basic machine setup experience including tooling, fixtures, and offsets
• Working knowledge of CNC programming fundamentals, including G-code and M-code
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop travelers
• Familiarity with GD&T and precision measurement techniques
• Experience using inspection equipment including:
• • Micrometers

  • Height gauges
  • Air gauges
  • Comparators
• Basic shop math skills including fractions and decimals
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety

Preferred Qualifications:

• Aerospace manufacturing experience
• Experience with Fanuc, Haas, Mazak, Okuma, or Siemens CNC controls
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices
• High School Diploma or GED preferred
