Production Supervisor

Production SupervisorThis position supervises and coordinates the activities of various production workers within Komatsu's Milwaukee Distribution Center, in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. The Production Supervisor ensures that production lines and machinery are running efficiently. The Production Supervisor works safely and is an advocate for all safety activities, driving a culture of Zero Harm.Key Job Responsibilities:Drive daily performance requirements through SLQDC expectations (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost)Secure a Zero Harm Environment, ensuring safety standards are metCoordinate production to meet customer deliveries, while driving to daily Key Performance MetricsEnsure that production lines and machinery are running efficientlyManage requisitions for paint, grease, paint thinner, cutting oil, saw blades, and other cutting tools of all kindsConduct safety meetings and safety auditsEnsure standard work is documented, followed, audited, and improved to support consistent execution across the team.Supervise highly-skilled subordinates (i.e. Electricians, Mechanics, Welders, Machinists, etc.) and function as a Technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) in a production area.Work with other department leaders to ensure a smooth productive workflowEmployee supervision include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.Oversee employee time and attendance in Workforce Management, including employee vacation and absence requests as well as departmental overtimeBoost morale through positive employee relations throughout locationQualifications/Requirements:High School diploma required; technical degree or above preferredMinimum of 4 years progressive manufacturing experience, including 2 years as a team lead or related supervisory experienceProficient computer skillsDemonstrated ability to read and interpret engineering drawingsDemonstrated knowledge of welding and cutting operations and re-manufacture and/or assembly of heavy equipmentMust be able to perform duties with little or no supervisionCompany Benefits:Komatsu provides an extensive and robust employee benefits package that is designed to enhance the well-being of our employees and family members.
