GSM Services wants to be the best place to work in our region and it takes teamwork to come together, work together and succeed together.Position Summary:As an HVAC Service Technician at GSM Services, you are a proven professional who has met the expectations of a Service Technician Apprentice and are advancing in skill and responsibility. You will perform a variety of routine and complex HVAC maintenance and repair tasks while upholding the GSM mission of providing Comfort and Peace of Mind to our customers. This role requires a commitment to technical excellence, strong customer service, mentorship, and consistent performance. Within two years, proficiency in all listed duties is expected, positioning you for advancement toward Master Service Technician.Key Responsibilities:Perform service agreement calls (commercial & residential), including:Full equipment inspection and operational checksFilter changes/cleaning, coil cleaning, temperature & electrical readingsPreventative maintenance tasks and occasional repairs (motors, coils, contactors, boards, etc.)Train technician trainees in diagnostic and servicing techniquesMaintain accurate documentation for service agreement customers (inspection sheets, reports)Ensure proper condition and inventory of all tools, equipment, and parts usedKeep company vehicle clean and presentable inside and outAdhere to GSM's professional appearance and uniform standardsUse flat-rate pricing to quote and perform repairs with customer approvalSell residential service agreements, accessories, and extended warranties as appropriateGenerate leads for system replacements and pass to the sales teamProvide on-call and extreme weather support when needed, including backing up other techsSupport installation departments as needed (residential or commercial)Participate in GSM and manufacturer training (Carrier, distributors, etc.)Work each day until all assigned tasks are complete – The Sundown RuleOther duties as assigned by leadershipQualifications & Requirements:Valid NC or SC Driver's License with clean driving recordEPA Certification – Type I & II requiredNATE Certification – Core & at least one specialty requiredHigh School Diploma or GEDAbility to read and write English at a high school levelMust pass a pre-employment drug screenMinimum continuing education: 8 hours/year (Residential Service focus)Callbacks must remain at or below 5%Call completion rate must remain at or above 95%Success in This Role:Professionalism and courtesy at all times – customers and coworkers alikeReliable attendance and a strong work ethicTechnical proficiency and safety-conscious mindsetStrong communication and mentoring skillsPositive contribution to GSM's mission, culture, and valuesBenefits & PerksAt GSM Services, we believe in taking great care of our team—on and off the job.
