• Portneuf Medical Center (PMC) is a nationally recognized healthcare leader with 205 beds, serving as the region's Level II Trauma Center and tertiary referral hospital and is home to the Portneuf Heart and Vascular Institute, Portneuf Cancer Center, Portneuf Medical Group and Portneuf Air Rescue. Learn About a Day In the Life of a Surgical Tech:

• Assist with the nursing care of patients preoperatively, intraoperatively, and postoperatively by performing routine and delegated duties according to the standards of the department and hospital practice and policies.
• Responsible for the preparation and disbursement of surgical supplies, equipment, and instrumentation – pre, intra-, and postoperatively.
• Demonstrates knowledge of principles of asepsis.
• Demonstrates knowledge of the standards of AORN guidelines.
• Assumes responsibility for clinical competence and professional development.
• Participates in the responsible management of all departmental resources.
• Takes call as required by the department. 
• Maintains competencies in the main OR as well as the CVOR.

Job Requirements :

• Graduated from an accredited Surgical Tech program or a Certified Surgical Technologist
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
