The first assist is also responsible for helping to prepare the patient for surgery, transporting patients, monitoring the inventory of supplies, assisting with OR turnovers, and maintaining safety protocols during the surgery. May perform other duties or procedure deemed necessary and directed by the surgeon or Anesthesiologist.QualificationsJob Requirements:A high school diploma. Associate's degree preferred.Certified Surgical Assistant (CSFA) certificationBLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.ACLS is required within 6 months of hire.Three to five years of OR experience.
