Happy Monkey by Jean-Georges is seeking an accomplished Executive Sous Chef to join our leadership team. This is a hands-on role for a driven culinary professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while maintaining the highest standards of quality, organization, and hospitality.
Responsibilities
Support the Executive Chef in all day-to-day kitchen operations
Lead, train, and mentor the culinary team with consistency and professionalism
Uphold Jean-Georges culinary standards, DOH compliance, and food safety protocols
Oversee prep, service execution and inventory management
Maintain clean, organized, and efficient workspaces at all times
Collaborate on menu specials, and seasonal initiatives
Qualifications
Minimum 3–5 years of senior sous or executive sous experience in a high-volume, quality-driven kitchen
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Proven ability to execute under pressure while leading by example
Experience with DOH standards, food costing, and kitchen systems
Passion for hospitality, teamwork, and continuous improvement
