Head of Talent (New York)

Location: New York City, Hybrid (in-office three days a week, with potential to increase to five days).Are you a dynamic and strategic recruiter ready to take on a pivotal role in shaping the future of our team? We are seeking a highly experienced Head of Talent with a minimum of 6 years in recruiting and talent management, particularly within tech or startup environments. This position offers a unique opportunity to build our talent acquisition function from the ground up.Key Responsibilities:Lead and manage the full recruitment lifecycle, collaborating with external agencies and internal stakeholders to achieve hiring goals of 25-30 new team members over the next nine months.Develop and implement a forward-thinking strategy to identify and attract top talent, focusing on engineering, product, and design roles.Establish and refine the recruiting infrastructure, including processes, systems, and interviewer training programs.Partner closely with the CEO and leadership team to align hiring plans with organizational design and compensation strategies.Serve as the primary talent acquisition specialist for the first 6-12 months, overseeing all aspects from sourcing to closing, with the potential to expand and lead a talent team thereafter.Qualifications:Proven experience building a recruiting function from scratch and executing full-cycle recruiting across various roles, including engineering, product, design, and leadership.Background in tech/startup environments and experience as a former founder or VC talent partner is highly advantageous.Strong skills in implementing an ATS and developing innovative, network-based sourcing strategies for passive talent acquisition.Attributes:Exceptional networking abilities, characterized by warmth, empathy, and a sales-driven approach.Requirements:Availability to work from the NYC office three days a week, with flexibility to increase as needed.Comfort working as an independent contributor during the initial phase, with a hands-on approach to recruiting.Preference for candidates who have worked in agile environments and are eager to make a significant impact.We are excited to welcome a leader who is not only skilled but also deeply committed.
