IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC).

Responsibilities Facilitate program requirements and objectives by providing guidance, policies, and oversight for the day‑to‑day security operations for command Information Assurance Managers (IAM). Enforce Information Security/Assurance and Cyber Security policies and directives for Navy and Marine Corps Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) customers. Provide detailed reports on Information Assurance requirements/compliance, security incidents/violations, and maintain applicable databases in accordance with policies and procedures. Provide comprehensive Information Assurance Security and Incident Response training to personnel responsible for Sensitive Compartmented Information systems. Assist with the Privilege User (PU) and Authorized‑to‑Operate (ATO) process by ensuring requests are properly submitted and processed in a timely manner. Monitor daily Information System Security Manager‑related database/queues such as Quick Media Requests (QMR) and provide status to the Hopper Information System Security Manager. Qualifications One year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private/public sector demonstrating the following competencies: Attention to Detail – thorough and conscientious. Customer Service – works with clients and customers to assess needs and provide information. Oral Communication – expresses information effectively and listens to others. Problem Solving – identifies problems, evaluates alternatives, and makes recommendations. Specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GG/GS‑12) or pay band, including technical services in policy, security, systems analysis, network services, and database administration; managing end‑to‑end data lifecycles; directing complex installations and operations; developing novel technical methodologies; diagnosing and resolving critical system bottlenecks; conducting risk assessments and reviewing certification/accreditation documentation; and hardening system security processes. Requirements U.S. citizenship. Suitability for federal employment. Participation in the direct deposit pay program. Successful completion of E‑Verify employment verification (new Department of the Navy employees). Top‑Secret security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI); must obtain and maintain clearance. Pre‑employment drug test (including marijuana); failure to report or pass results in rescinded offer; subject to random testing. Written acknowledgment of appointment as a DCIPS (excepted service) appointment, not conferring competitive status. Compliance with DoD and Department of the Navy Cyber IT/CSWF Program requirements, including credentialing, continuous learning, and documentation in an Individual Development Plan. Periodic polygraph examination. Potential 2‑year DCIPS trial period. Some travel required.
