This dynamic role supports cardiovascular physicians and medical staff by delivering direct patient care, performing triage, managing diagnostic procedures, and ensuring continuity of care. Responsibilities include patient intake, documentation, injections, EKGs, Coumadin management, and patient education, all while maintaining cardiology-specific protocols and safety standards./ppHow Youll Drive Our Mission Forward/pulliPerform patient triage and intake, accurately documenting chief complaints, vitals, medications, allergies, and medical history./liliSupport physicians during patient visits and follow through on orders including tests, injections, Coumadin labs, and patient instructions./liliPerform EKGs, blood draws (venipuncture and finger sticks), and assist with stress tests and cardiac monitoring devices such as holters and telemetry monitors./liliAssist with diagnostic procedures including Nuclear, PET, Stress Testing, Ultrasound, Echocardiography, pacemaker/defibrillator checks, and Coumadin clinics./liliEducate patients and families regarding diagnostic tests, cardiac monitoring equipment, and prescribed care plans./liliMaintain and update patient records accurately in paper and/or electronic medical record (EMR) systems; utilize CPOE for orders, lab scheduling, and form completion (e.g., Home Health, FMLA, handicap license)./liliManage medical forms, insurance pre-certifications, supply ordering, and mandated OSHA safety checks./liliFacilitate patient mobility and flow within clinics, including transport assistance and occasional transport to hospitals./liliPerform front-office duties as needed, including scheduling, check-in/out, answering phones, verifying insurance, and maintaining HIPAA compliance./liliCollaborate and communicate with other departments to ensure smooth patient flow and reduce wait times./liliProvide cross-coverage and travel to other CIS clinics as needed to support team operations and patient care continuity./li/ulpWhat Makes You a Great Match/pulliHigh school diploma and current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in Louisiana OR current Medical Assistant certification (CCMA, RMA, CMA, or NCMA)./liliCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; ACLS is a plus./liliProven clinical skills in triage, patient intake, EKGs, injections, venipuncture, diagnostic support, and EMR systems./liliExcellent communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to patient-centered care and privacy./liliFlexible, adaptable, and willing to travel to various clinic locations as needed./liliStrong organizational skills and ability to multitask while maintaining compliance with clinical protocols and safety standards./liliDemonstrated dedication to the CIS mission and a collaborative team approach./li/ulpEqual Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
