Sr. Accountant

Company Description Zoladz Construction Co., Inc. is a large civil works, demolition, and trucking contractor located in Western New York, with a satellite facility in Charlotte, North Carolina. Role Description The Sr. Accountant must have a strong construction background. This is a full-time, on-site role based at the Williamsville, NY offices. This role is responsible for managing financial reporting, compliance with regulatory standards and financial operations. Manage general ledger activities, preparing and analyzing financial statements, and ensuring accurate month‑end and year‑end closings. The Sr. Accountant will oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, reconcile bank and balance sheet accounts, and support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management. The position includes maintaining compliance with accounting standards, tax and regulatory requirements, supporting internal and external audits, and continuously improving accounting procedures and internal controls. The Sr. Accountant will collaborate closely with operations, project management, and leadership to provide financial insights that support decision‑making and project profitability. Qualifications Strong general accounting skills, including general ledger management, account reconciliation, and financial statement preparation. Experience with budgeting, forecasting, cost accounting, and job costing in a construction or project‑based environment. Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel; familiarity with ERP systems and technology‑driven workflows. Manage inter‑company processes with sister agencies and investments. Construction job costing for labor, material, equipment, and subcontractors. Knowledge of GAAP, tax compliance, and audit support, with attention to detail and accuracy. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or pursuit of certification is a plus. Relevant experience as a senior‑level accountant or similar role, in construction. Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines on‑site.
