Summer 2026 Adjunct Professor SPED 592-01 Best Practices for the Education Specialist (3 units) Location: Moraga, CA Schedule: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:30 pm to 8:20 pm. Classes meet on the following dates: 7/7, 7/9, 7/14, 7/16, 7/21, 7/23, 7/28, 7/30, 8/4, 8/6. Job Description: The Instructor will teach the SPED 592-1 course, a 3‑unit introduction to assessment, curriculum and instruction, and case management for Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). The course covers reading (Standard 9), English learners (Standard 10), and curriculum and instruction for students with disabilities (Standard 13). Candidates will also develop skills related to the broad range of service delivery options in K‑12 public schools and promote a student‑centered, interactive learning environment. Responsibilities: Deliver course lectures, activities, and assessments across the semester. Design and implement student‑centered learning experiences. Collaborate with faculty, staff, and students in a diverse classroom environment. Provide timely feedback and grading for assignments. Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance. Qualifications: Master’s Degree in Education or a related field. Background in Special Education (SPED). Strong commitment to undergraduate, liberal arts education. Comfortable teaching in a student‑centered, interactive setting. Ability to work collaboratively in a culturally diverse classroom. Residents of California. Salary: $6,480–$10,308, dependent on qualifications. Salary range covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the College and SEIU, Local 1021.
