Assistant Dining Room Manager-FT 11-7:30 Assist the Dining Room Manager in planning, organizing, directing, and coordinating all dining room activities. Ensure efficient operation of the department, including staffing, training, and scheduling of employees. Check deliveries, provide coverage for any area or server station in the absence of scheduled staff, and ensure courteous and efficient services are delivered. In the absence of the Dining Room Manager, supervise the physical appearance of the dining room area and server stations. Coordinate the seating of residents and guests in an efficient, courteous manner. Assist the Dining Room Manager on all shifts, staffing, scheduling, counseling, and orientation evaluation of Dining Room staff. Schedule stations and work assignments for the wait staff and check‑out servers to meet standards. Record meal counts, reservations, and additional charges; maintain complete knowledge of POS system. Consult with the Dining Room Manager regarding dining room status. Consult with Executive Chef and Director of Food & Beverage regarding any food, staffing, or service issues. Cross‑train with dietary aides. Report damage on broken equipment to Food & Beverage Director. Wait tables and provide beverage and bar services as needed. Participate in cost control measures. Participate in food or beverage inventories as needed. Attend in‑service training and education sessions as assigned. Perform specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by Manager. Qualifications: High school diploma/GED or equivalent education, training, and experience. Minimum of 3 years of restaurant or senior living experience, or equivalent serving and staff management experience. Physical Requirements/Working Conditions Light to moderate physical effort 90% of the time. Must be able to stand and walk 90% of the workday, stoop, bend, and stretch frequently, and lift up to 50 pounds frequently. Must be able to see, hear, speak, read, write, and communicate in English.
