A&P Mechanic III

Job Title: A&P Mechanic III Location: Englewood, CO Duration: 11 months Pay Rate: $40/hr. Start Date: Immediate Must obtain Secret Clearance. Duties As an A&P Mechanic III, you will be responsible for repairs, replacement and maintenance of the key components of aircraft. You will perform necessary checks on mechanical and functional components, including testing and replacement of defective or faulty parts. You will use a variety of tools and equipment to diagnose parts to be replaced, ensuring repairs and maintenance comply with national and international standards, while maintaining safety and cleanliness of the hanger or workshop. You will demonstrate knowledge in one of the three main components of aviation maintenance: airframe maintenance, powerplant mechanics, or A&P components. Physical/Mental/Emotional Requirements Frequently walk, sit, stand, climb stairs and steps. Frequently repeat same hand, arm, and finger motions many times to include finger and hand dexterity. Frequently requires vision abilities to include close, distance, depth perception, and difference between colors. Frequently requires hearing abilities to discern different tones and volumes. Frequently lift or carry up to 50 lbs. Working Conditions Frequently exposed to outdoor elements (high/low temperatures, sun, rain/snow, etc.). Frequently exposed to fumes or hazardous chemicals/materials. Frequently exposed to loud noises. Safety Sensitive Position Responsible for safety or security of people or property; inspects, handles, or transports explosives, dangerous or hazardous materials. Inspects structures, equipment or vehicles. Performs aviation related duties. Operates or supervises vehicles, heavy or dangerous equipment or machinery. Skills Must-haves: Active, current FAA Airframe & Powerplant certification with no prior FAA violations. Reliable transportation to and from work locations. Own tools in good working order. Ability to speak, read and write in English. Pass and maintain Class 3 Physical requirements, including hearing testability to understand and interpret technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals and/or publications. Advanced skills in repairing, maintaining and troubleshooting aircraft airframes and engines. Preferred: FAA repair station and/or Quality Assurance experience. Ability to travel on a regular basis and/or work different shifts including overtime and weekends. Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR/DFARS). Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense or US Military. Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance may be required. Education High school diploma or GED equivalent, typically 5+ years of relevant experience. A higher level degree may substitute for experience. Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education. Certifications & Licenses Class 3 Physical. FAA Airframe and Powerplant certification. Belcan is an equal opportunity employer.
