Job Description The role of Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) supports daily plasma center operations, reporting to the Center Manager and working under the Center Physician for medical matters. Responsibilities include determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, and notifying donors of unsuitable results. The position requires familiarity with plasma collection regulations and adherence to BioLife Medical Affairs guidance, while providing center‑level support for environmental, health, and safety (EHS) matters. How you will contribute Determine donor eligibility, manage informed consent, provide AIDS education, and conduct confidential self‑exclusion. Interview donors for medical history, conduct physical examinations, perform blood testing, and review serological protein electrophoresis (SPE). Evaluate donor reactions, follow SOPs for medical emergencies, develop center physician standing orders, and coordinate donor transport to emergency care. Refer unacceptable findings to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs and provide guidance on medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility. Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees. Manage employee incidents and determine need for further evaluation by occupational health, referring to EHS guidance. Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS, supporting investigations related to pandemic threats in the local community. What you bring to Takeda High school diploma or an equivalent graduate program in a recognized nursing program with state requirements. Licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned (LPN or LVN). Current CPR and AED certification. Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy. Complete FDA‑approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist. Two years of clinical or hospital experience. BioLife Compensation and Benefits Summary Location: USA - FL - Tallahassee U.S. Hourly Wage Range: $23.04 – $31.68 per hour.
