Job Description BioLife Plasma Services, a subsidiary of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd., is a plasma donation center that collects high‑quality plasma for life‑changing medicines. The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) supports center operations under the guidance of the Center Manager and Physician and ensures compliance with industry regulations and BioLife Medical Affairs guidance. About the Role The Medical Support Specialist determines donor eligibility, manages donor adverse events, reviews laboratory test results, and notifies donors of unsuitable results. The role follows SOPs for medical emergencies, provides center‑level support for environmental, health and safety, and may serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized. How You Will Contribute Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE). Evaluate donor reactions and follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including development of Center Physician standing orders and coordination of donor transport to emergency facilities. Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on unacceptable findings or medical/technical issues, ensuring donor safety and eligibility. Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for staff. Manage employee incidents, determining if further evaluation by occupational health/ER is required and applying EHS guidance. Act as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS, supporting investigations into pandemic threats in the local community. What You Bring to Takeda High school diploma or equivalent, or a graduate‑level recognized educational nursing program meeting state requirements. Licensed or certified in the state of assignment: Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA). Current cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification. Completion of state IV therapy requirements in the state of licensure. Fulfillment of FDA‑approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist. Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting. Compensation and Benefits Summary Location: USA – MI – Mt Pleasant Hourly wage range: $31.68 – $43.56 (actual wage may vary based on qualifications, experience, skills, education, certifications and location).
