Responsible for the delivery of direct educational and mental health services to create supportive learning and social environments for all students. Responsible for conducting formal and informal assessments for the identification, placement, and programming of students for Special Education services and providing effective services to help students succeed academically, socially, behaviorally, and emotionally. Job Summary:
*School Psychologists Interns are assigned School Psychologist for school locations in District 51. Interns will receive structured supervision, support and mentoring throughout their year of internship.

$53,195 - $111,072 (Pending Board of Education Approval) - based on one (1) FTE at one hundred eighty eight (197) days. Hiring Range for External Candidates:
$53,195 - $91,316 - based on one (1) FTE at one hundred eighty eight (197) days.
*School Psych Interns are initially placed according to experience and education. Psych Interns new to the District may be granted up to 15 years of experience, provided the experience occurred within the last 20 years in accordance with the MVEA Agreement. Job Responsibility Description Psychological Assessment and Intervention
- Perform individual psychological assessments on students, write clear and concise diagnostic results, and maintain necessary documentation of student assessments.
- Develop, plan, prepare, and implement individual, measurable long-term and short-term objectives based on student needs.
- Apply techniques, strategies, and interventions to motivate and support students in meeting IEP goals and objectives.
- Provide direct and indirect services to students, families, and appropriate staff, including consultation on interventions and providing alternative adaptations to address student needs.
- Engage in providing short-term therapeutic interventions, including individual and small group counseling, social-emotional instruction, and conflict resolution.
- Monitor student progress, adapt support as needed, and maintain documentation related to academic, social, and emotional development.
- Provide crisis intervention and support in response to school-wide or individual student emergencies, collaborating with staff and community resources to ensure safety and emotional well-being.
- Collaborate with teachers, support personnel, administrators, and colleagues to improve student outcomes, including participating in crisis response and management efforts as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Participate in team-based meetings, including eligibility & building-level discussions, to address student needs and improve educational support.
- Communicate students' progress and needs with parents and staff to ensure continuous support and development.
- Advocate for students, ensuring their needs are met through ethical, professional practices.
- Engage with families to include them in the educational process and provide guidance on interventions and strategies.
- Participate in multi-disciplinary diagnostic and placement teams, department meetings, student/family conferences, and other professional activities.
- Demonstrate a commitment to understanding, appreciating, and making accommodations for student diversity.
- Support school policies, procedures, and expectations while promoting personal and professional excellence.
- Participate in social, cultural, interscholastic, and extracurricular activities to foster a positive school environment.
- Maintain records and submit Medicaid billing statements in compliance with the State of Colorado Medicaid Reimbursement Program standards.
- Additional tasks, duties, and responsibilities may be assigned as needed/requested.
- Must be in current Ed.S or Doctoral degree program in School Psychology
- Previous psychology experience with students in an educational setting is preferred.
- Valid Colorado driver's license or valid Colorado identification required
- Must be able to obtain a Special Service Provider Intern Authorization with a School Psychology endorsement upon hire
- Quality Behavioral Solutions certification (QBS) must be obtained within 60 days of hire
