Make a meaningful impact supporting students in a dynamic school environment. This contract paraprofessional position provides an opportunity to work one-on-one with an 8th-grade student, offering both support and encouragement as they navigate their school day. The position begins as soon as possible and runs through June 11, reflecting a strong need for an attentive, compassionate professional committed to helping students thrive.
Key Qualifications and Skills:
- Paraprofessional experience, preferably with students demonstrating behavioral needs
- Familiarity with state-required trainings; willingness to complete all necessary certifications
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
- Patience, empathy, and dedication when engaging with middle school students
- Ability to collaborate closely with teachers and school staff to implement student-specific strategies
- High school diploma or equivalent required; advanced training or relevant certifications are a plus
Your Primary Responsibilities Will Include:
- Providing 1:1 support and supervision for an 8th-grade student throughout the school day
- Assisting with lessons, behavioral interventions, and classroom participation as directed by staff
- Supporting the student’s individualized education and behavioral plans
- Modeling appropriate behaviors and positive social interactions
- Maintaining open communication with teachers and other educational professionals
- Adhering to school policies, safety protocols, and confidentiality requirements
Position Details:
- Contract role starting immediately through June 11
- School hours: 7:30 AM to 2:40 PM, Monday through Friday, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch
- Onsite interview required when possible
- Work in a supportive middle school environment, making a daily difference in a student’s life
