Make a direct impact in a supportive educational setting by working 1:1 with an 8th grade student as a contract paraprofessional. This opportunity is ideal for a caring and dedicated professional who thrives in school environments and is eager to support student success. The role runs from now through June 11, with hours from 7:30 AM to 2:40 PM (including a 30-minute unpaid lunch), located at a middle school near New Britain, CT.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Prior experience as a paraprofessional in a school setting
- Preference for those with a background supporting students with challenging behaviors
- Completion of state-mandated trainings (or willingness to complete upon hire)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliability, patience, and a genuine commitment to student growth
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 support to an 8th grade student, focusing on both academic and behavioral goals
- Implement individualized strategies and accommodations as directed by instructional staff
- Assist in maintaining a structured, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
- Collaborate effectively with teachers, therapists, and school staff
- Monitor student progress and communicate updates with the educational team
- Contribute to a respectful and positive learning atmosphere
You will play an essential role in helping a student achieve their best each day in a dynamic school community. Onsite interviews are required whenever possible, providing the chance to meet the team and see the classroom environment firsthand.
