If you've led a surgical services department, an OR, or an ASC and want broader ownership over clinical operations, staffing, and quality, this is your next step.The Director of Nursing (DON) provides strategic and operational leadership for all nursing and clinical services within the Center. The DON oversees staffing, clinical operations, regulatory compliance, quality improvement, and patient care delivery while building a collaborative, high-performing care team.ResponsibilitiesProvide leadership, supervision, and operational oversight for all nursing staff and clinical servicesEnsure safe, efficient, high-quality patient care throughout the surgical experienceManage staffing, scheduling, shift coverage, and performance evaluationsRecruit, interview, onboard, mentor, and develop care team membersOversee compliance with HIPAA, Medicare, state licensing requirements, accreditation standards, and infection control policiesLead Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives and monitor clinical outcomesCollaborate with physician partners, anesthesia providers, and administrative leadership to improve operational efficiency and patient satisfactionMaintain oversight of EMR/EHR systems, clinical documentation, and medical records managementMonitor Center benchmarks, scorecards, incident reports, and quality metricsSupport budget management, labor utilization, pharmaceutical expenses, and cost-saving initiativesPartner with Materials Management on supply utilization and inventory controlsBuild a positive, professional, team-oriented cultureLead and support change management initiatives and organizational growthRequired qualificationsCurrent Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York StateMinimum 3-5 years of nursing leadership or management experienceAt least 2-3 years managing a surgical services department or ASC, as a Director of Nursing, OR Manager, Clinical Manager, or Clinical Director in a perioperative, outpatient surgery, or ASC settingStrong knowledge of ASC regulations, HIPAA, Medicare compliance, and quality standardsExperience managing clinical staff, scheduling, and performance evaluationsProficiency with EMR/EHR systems and clinical documentation processesExcellent leadership, communication, and organizational skillsPreferred qualificationsBSN required; MSN preferredASC, perioperative, or surgical services leadership experience beyond the minimumExperience with accreditation surveys and QAPI programsCNOR or leadership certification preferredBenefitsHealth, dental, and vision insurancePaid time off and holidaysEnd-of-year bonus eligibility based on KPIsProfessional development opportunitiesA supportive leadership environmentThe opportunity to shape patient care and operational performance at the Center level
