T at the General Store was created to focus on the best/freshest produce and ingredients, truly highlighting the bounty of Maryland's Eastern Shore. Best described as American cuisine with a healthy twist, we have cultivated a strong local following augmented by seasonal visitors over the 12 years we've been in business. Even in high summer season, customers are nearly evenly split between repeat visitors and first time guests. We are seeking a talented and dedicated Sous Chef to join our culinary team. This is a unique opportunity for a highly skilled individual to both contribute to and learn from all aspects of BoH in our small fine dining restaurant. The ideal candidate possesses a strong commitment to culinary excellence, a massive creative vision and proven leadership abilities.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the Executive Chef in all aspects of kitchen operations, including menu development, food preparation and plating.
• Manage inventory, cost controls and minimize waste while ensuring the consistent quality of ingredients
• Maintain strict adherence to hygiene, sanitation and food safety regulations
• Collaborate with the Executive Chef on seasonal menu changes and special events
• Ensure efficient workflow and clear communications throughout Front and Back of House
• Uphold the restaurant's reputation for exceptional dining experiences.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a fine dining establishment
• Proven experience working in a similar restaurant is highly preferred
• Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required
• Ability to work in fast paced environment while maintaining composure and precision

Compensation: Salary ($40,000.00 - $50,000.00)
