Executive Chef

T at the General Store was created to focus or the best / freshest produce and really highlight the best of Maryland’s Eastern Shore. The concept is built around our tea brand, bringing tea infusion as a flavor and spice where it makes sense (across apps, mains, desserts and signature cocktails). Best described as American cuisine with a healthy twist, we have cultivated a strong local following augmented by seasonal visitors over the 12 years we’ve been in business. Even in high summer season, customers are nearly evenly split between repeat visitors and first time guests.

We are seeking an experienced Executive Chef to revamp our kitchen staff and lead culinary operations. This is an opportunity to showcase your talents in a small, intimate, independent restaurant. The Executive Chef will be responsible for setting menus, managing a small team (combined FoH / BoH) and overseeing kitchen operations and menu innovation. This role offers a talented leader the autonomy excellence without the pressures of ownership, reporting directly to the owner.

Responsibilities include:
* Plan and design menus that reflect the restaurant’s vision and culinary standards 
* Manage kitchen operations and lead a small team of up to 5 members each night. 

* Provide strong leadership and mentorship to kitchen staff
* Control inventory and oversee cost management to ensure profitability 
* Develop and refine recipes for consistent quality and innovation.
