JobTitle: Biotechnologist IIILocation: Portsmouth, NH, (On-site)As a Biotechnologist III at our Portsmouth site, you will play a key role in upstream production of therapeutic proteins that support patients worldwide. You will operate manufacturing equipment, execute complex processes, and ensure all work meets cGMP and safety standards. This is an onsite role requiring hands-on work and close collaboration. You will also support troubleshooting, lead by example within the team, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.This role follows a 12-hour day shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM on a rotating schedule of alternating days: two on, two off, three on, two off, two on, three off (repeating cycle).What you will getAn agile career and dynamic working cultureAn inclusive and ethical workplaceCompensation programs that recognize high performanceMedical, dental, and vision insuranceOpportunities to grow and develop your careerA collaborative and team-focused environmentWhat you will doSet up, operate, and monitor manufacturing equipment, including CIP and SIP processesExecute production processes following SOPs, cGMP, and GDP requirementsPerform advanced laboratory tasks such as sampling, pH, and conductivity testingTroubleshoot routine and non-routine equipment and process issuesReview batch records, logbooks, and support deviation initiationTrain and support other associates on manufacturing tasks and process knowledgePerform material movements and maintain equipment through cleaning and sanitizationWhat we are looking for3+ years of upstream bioprocessing experience required; 5+ years in the biotech industry preferredExperience in GMP manufacturing or a regulated biopharmaceutical environmentStrong understanding of cGMP, documentation practices, and process flowAbility to troubleshoot equipment and support investigationsStrong communication skills, including technical writingAttention to detail with strong problem-solving and decision-making skillsHigh school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field preferredAbout LonzaAt Lonza, our people are our greatest strength.
