Our team is our competitive advantage and we are better together.YOUR MISSION True Anomaly is seeking a talented and driven Senior Electrical Engineering Systems Engineer to lead cross-domain systems engineering across our avionics, RF communications, and electrical power subsystems. Reporting to the Director of Avionics, you will own the systems engineering discipline that ties these domains together - driving requirements decomposition, interface definition, integration planning, and verification strategy across the full spacecraft avionics architecture. You will represent the Avionics Components team in design reviews and customer engagements, translating complex multi-discipline technical challenges into clear decisions and actionable plans.Own requirements decomposition and flow-down across avionics, RF, and electrical power subsystems, ensuring traceability from customer and program-level requirements to component specificationsDevelop, maintain, and negotiate interface control documents (ICDs) between avionics subsystems and broader spacecraft systems, including software, GNC, propulsion, and payloadsLead cross-domain integration planning across digital systems, FPGA, EPS, RF communications disciplines to ensure architectural coherence and minimize interface riskDrive technical and programmatic trade studies that span avionics subsystem boundaries, synthesizing inputs from power, RF, and digital teams to produce clear recommendations with supporting analysisLead and participate in design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR) as the avionics systems engineering representative, presenting architecture, interface, and verification status to internal stakeholders and customersInterpret and adjudicate customer specifications, identifying areas of risk, ambiguity, or non-compliance and driving resolution with engineering and program stakeholdersDevelop and maintain the avionics verification and validation strategy, ensuring requirements are verifiable and mapped to appropriate test or analysis methodsCollaborate with EPS engineers on power budget development, distribution architecture trades, and power system interface definitionCollaborate with RF engineers on link budget assumptions, antenna interface requirements, and communications system integration planningSupport sprint planning, milestone tracking, and schedule development in coordination with the Program Office, keeping the Avionics Components team on track and dependencies visibleIdentify and track technical and programmatic risks across the avionics domain, driving mitigation plans in collaboration with subsystem leads and the Program OfficeDevelop and maintain avionics program documentation including technical plans, schedules, review packages, and status reportsMentor junior engineers in systems engineering practices, requirements discipline, and cross-functional problem solvingQUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field5-10 years of professional experience in systems engineering, avionics engineering, or a related technical disciplineDemonstrated experience with requirements decomposition, flow-down, and traceability management for electrical or avionics systemsExperience developing and managing interface control documents across complex, multi-discipline hardware programsStrong electrical engineering fundamentals with the ability to engage credibly with engineers across EPS, RF communications, digital systems, FPGA, and harness disciplinesExperience supporting or leading design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR) with internal and external stakeholdersExceptional written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to convey technical information clearly to both engineering and program management audiencesPREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCEMaster's degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related fieldExperience with spacecraft avionics architectures including flight computers, EPS, RF communications, and harness designFamiliarity with spacecraft power system design, power budgeting, and distribution architecturesFamiliarity with RF communications system design, link budgets, and antenna integrationExperience with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) tools such as Cameo, Rhapsody, or similarFamiliarity with requirements management tools such as DOORS, Jama, or ConfluenceExperience working directly with government or defense customers and interpreting military or defense acquisition specificationsFamiliarity with agile development methodologies applied to hardware engineering programsExperience working in a fast-paced, startup environment or a similarly dynamic settingCOMPENSATIONBase Salary: $150,000-$220,000Equity + Benefits including Health, Dental, Vision, HRA/HSA options, PTO and paid holidays, 401K, Parental LeaveYour actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, location, and experience.
