About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Behavioral Health Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years required License: Current and active nursing license required Certifications: BCLS required Must-Have: - Previous charge experience - Travel experience required - Experience with the Sunrise charting system preferred Description: Position in the general adult behavioral health unit. Candidates with 2 years of experience are welcome to apply. First-timers are accepted. Weekend shifts are required every other weekend. On-call shifts are not required. All travelers may be required to float to any age population as scheduling requires. Candidates must demonstrate skills in managing anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, depressive disorders, and psychotic disorders. Experience with medication administration and seclusion protocols is essential. Knowledge of crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques is necessary. Candidates must be able to perform cardiac arrest/CPR procedures. Foley catheter insertion and management experience is preferred. Wound care and dressing change abilities are necessary. Candidates must be familiar with working with a locked unit environment. Experience working with geriatric patients is a plus. Knowledge in trauma and stressor-related disorders is valuable. Candidates must have strong communication skills to interpret and communicate lab values. Comfortable with handling physical hold protocols and managing assaultive behavior is crucial. Experience in providing psychoeducation is critical. Candidates should be familiar with both voluntary and involuntary commitment processes. The facility will conduct background checks, including drug screening. All candidates must pass the drug screening on the first attempt. This position involves working with diverse patient diagnoses, including depression and schizophrenia. Proper professional conduct and adherence to policies are expected.
