Registered Nurse Pediatrics

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse in Pediatrics provides specialized nursing care to pediatric patients in a children's hospital setting. This role involves patient assessments, medication administration, treatment planning, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality care. The nurse will float between units and must be prepared for on-call duties and weekend shifts, demonstrating strong communication skills and pediatric nursing expertise. Responsibilities: Required Skills & Certifications:

• Active Registered Nurse license in the practicing state.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably with pediatric patients.
• Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, and treatment planning skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced pediatric hospital environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Previous pediatric nursing experience preferred.
• Experience working in a children's hospital or Level II Pediatric Trauma Center.
• Comfort with floating between pediatric units and managing varied patient acuity.

Special Considerations:

• On-call duty required based on unit census.
• Weekend shifts required, averaging 5 shifts in a 6-week period.
• Float between pediatric units as needed.
• Patient-to-nurse ratios typically range from 1:3 to 1:5.
• 48-hour shifts are not approved.

Scheduling:

• Schedule includes weekend shifts with 5 shifts required in a 6-week period.
• No block scheduling required.
• Shift assignments may vary due to floating between units and on-call requirements.
