Registered Nurse, Med Surg- Nights

Novant Health is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse for our Medical-Surgical unit on the night shift. As a Med Surg RN, you will provide comprehensive, evidence-based nursing care to a diverse adult patient population with a variety of acute and chronic medical conditions. Working within Novant Health’s mission of improving health, you will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to deliver safe, high-quality, and personalized care that supports optimal patient outcomes.
In this role, you will perform comprehensive assessments, develop and update individualized plans of care, administer medications and treatments, monitor patient responses, and promptly recognize and escalate changes in condition. You will coordinate care transitions, provide patient and family education, and advocate for patient needs while maintaining a strong focus on safety, infection prevention, and regulatory standards. Using advanced technology and electronic health records, you will accurately document all aspects of care and support effective communication among physicians, therapists, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals.
The Med Surg Registered Nurse on nights will prioritize and manage multiple patients, delegate appropriately to nursing assistants, and contribute to a supportive, team-based environment. You will participate in bedside shift reports, interdisciplinary rounds, and quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing clinical outcomes and the patient experience.
