Operations Technician

Job Description This mid‑shift Technician position is available within the Single‑Use Bioreactor (SUB) processing Department at our Animal Health facility in De Soto, Kansas. The role supports the large‑scale production of M.Hyo antigen, a key component of swine vaccines. Position Description As a Technician, you will learn and support manufacturing processes for the large‑scale manufacture of M.Hyo antigen. You will be expected to contribute to daily completion and schedule adherence of all production activities. Fermentation activities from breakout to large‑scale fermentation. Setup and operation of SUBs and neutralization vessels. Downstream processing of the antigen using ultrafiltration methods. Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with Good Documentation Practices. Identify opportunities for process improvement and apply basic problem‑solving skills. Education High school diploma or GED required. Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a science discipline or equivalent preferred. Required Experience and Skills Proficient oral and written communication skills. Ability to follow and comply with Manufacturing Directions, Standard Operating Procedures, and regulatory policies. Effective time‑management skills to meet deadlines. Basic laboratory procedure skills. Team‑work and initiative to support team members when needed. Proficient computer skills, including MS Word and MS Excel. Good Documentation Practices and attention to detail. Preferred Experience and Skills Experience working in a manufacturing environment. Experience with cell culture techniques or protein separation. Understanding of aseptic manufacturing processes. Experience with quality‑improvement tools and continuous improvement processes. Experience with single‑use bioreactors and mixers. Shift and Hours Monday to Friday – Mid Shift 10:30 AM to 7:00 PM. Occasional weekend work may be required.
