Project Engineer

Our client is hiring a Project Engineer to support and lead execution of large-scale power infrastructure projects, with an immediate focus on an HVDC project with LS Power in Silicon Valley. The Project Engineer will act as the technical lead, overseeing and coordinating engineering execution across complex power infrastructure projects, including HVDC, substation, and transmission work. They will collaborate closely with Project Managers to support project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and overall delivery while ensuring alignment across multidisciplinary engineering teams and deliverables. Responsibilities include reviewing design packages, vendor drawings, and technical documentation, as well as interfacing regularly with clients, contractors, and vendors to drive progress and resolve issues. The role will also support procurement efforts, including RFP responses and equipment selection, and provide construction and commissioning support through RFIs and field issue resolution. Additionally, the Project Engineer will proactively identify project risks, help ensure smooth execution, and contribute to team development by mentoring junior engineers and supporting knowledge-sharing initiatives.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering
Active PE License (REQUIRED)
10+ years of experience in power / electrical engineering
Experience leading or coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams
Background in substations, transmission, or HVDC


Nice to Have Skills & Experience

HVDC converter station experience
Project management or project controls exposure
Consulting engineering background
Experience working in utility-scale energy or industrial environments
