Job Description & Requirements Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: 10/05/2026 Duration: 16 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit / Surgical Oncology RN – Ohio Start Date: October 5, 2026 Location: Columbus, Ohio Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants Schedule: 12-hour shifts (Days/Nights or Rotating D/N based on unit needs); variable weekend coverage; assignment reviewed every 4-week scheduling period; 1:4-1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio Highlights: 16-week contract on a 36-bed mixed acuity unit caring for PCU and Medical-Surgical patients with a focus on Surgical Oncology Patient population includes adult and geriatric surgical oncology patients (breast, thyroid, melanoma, hepatobiliary, colorectal, and plastic/reconstructive surgery) Experience with chemotherapy administration, blood transfusions, oncologic emergencies, insulin/heparin drips, chest tube care, and BiPAP/CPAP management Epic EMR system; GE telemetry monitoring; Alaris pumps and Stryker beds Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, pharmacy, respiratory services, rapid response teams, and more Float requirements within scope of practice to other acute care oncology units Requirements: Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission) Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience, with at least 1 year of PCU experience (must be current and consistent within the last 12 months) BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required ONS Chemotherapy certification preferred Epic charting system experience required Proficiency in cardiac telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and tracheostomy care Nursing education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only) 2 professional references required (1 must be from manager/director or formal leadership; charge RN acceptable for 2nd reference) Why It's a Great Opportunity: This is an excellent opportunity for experienced PCU nurses to expand their surgical oncology expertise in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
