Job Title: RN - ICU

Experience:
Minimum years of experience preferred for the role.


License:
Registered Nurse licensure in the state of practice is required.


Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor is required.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is required.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification is required.


Must-Have:
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
Acute care facility experience is preferred.


Description:
Delivers coordinated nursing care for a patient or an assigned group of patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process.
Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff.
Coordinates care with other disciplines while utilizing critical thinking and independent judgment.
Collects relevant data pertinent to the patient's health or situation.
Analyzes the assessment data in determining diagnosis and care issues.
Develops a plan that prescribes interventions to attain outcomes.
Implements the plan, coordinates care delivery, and employs strategies to promote health and a safe environment.
Evaluates progress toward attaining outcomes.
Identifies outcomes for the patient or the patient's situation.
Collaborates with the team of patient, family, and healthcare providers in providing patient care in a safe and caring environment.
Provides learning opportunities for patients and team members.
Directly provides health information to patients, families, and treatment teams.
Participates in discharge planning to provide continuity of care.
Delegates appropriately and coordinates the duties of healthcare team members.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Vaccinations are required as a condition of employment.

This organization participates in E-Verify.
Total bed count includes 12 beds, with 6 in ICU and 6 in a stepdown unit.
Staffing ratios are 1:2 in ICU and 1:3 in a stepdown unit.
Call may be required if the shift begins overstaffed.
All nurses may float to the stepdown unit regularly.
Weekend coverage is required every other weekend.
Medication system in use is Pyxis.
Documentation system in use is Cerner.
Intensivists are onsite during the day and on-call at night.
Special equipment includes ICU-level equipment such as temperature management and ventilators.
Other special procedures include moderate sedation.
Scrubs should be solid color.
