Senior Paralegal - Revenue & Regulatory Law (Flexible Work)

Overview The Revenue & Regulatory Law (R&R) Section seeks two Senior Paralegals to support the Specialized Business Group and the Professional Boards and Programs Unit. The roles involve providing legal assistance to attorneys on regulatory matters, litigation, administrative hearings, and enforcement actions that protect Colorado residents. Responsibilities Assist attorneys in the Professional Boards and Programs Unit with prosecution of licensed professionals, including reviewing, drafting, and organizing pleadings, settlement documents, financial records, and case files. Coordinate depositions, hearings, and court filings; liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including client agencies, opposing counsel, court staff, and expert witnesses. Provide support to attorneys in the Specialized Business Group by preparing pleadings, filing documentation, conducting legal and factual research, managing case files, tracking deadlines, and coordinating with regulated industries such as gaming, racing, sports betting, the auto industry, and the Colorado Lottery. Assist with records management, discovery coordination, and development of systems to improve workflow and compliance with court procedures. Minimum Qualifications Paralegal certificate from an ABA‑approved program or accredited institution and one year of paralegal experience. Two years of work experience in a paralegal capacity, including legal research, drafting legal documents, and compiling data, can substitute for the certificate. Colorado residency at time of application. Preferred Qualifications Experience providing paralegal support in litigation. Experience reviewing legal documents for essential terms, such as filing deadlines. Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat for creating exhibits. Experience working with court personnel or other professionals collaboratively. Experience with electronic filing systems, including the Colorado state court e‑filing system. Proficiency with Microsoft Word for court filings with tables and authorities. Experience with ProLaw or a similar case‑management system. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet hard deadlines. Federal Litigation experience (preferred for PBP position). Required Competencies Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Effective oral and written communication with internal and external customers. Strong attention to detail and organization. Research, analysis, and data compilation skills. Time‑management and ability to multitask to meet tight deadlines. Conditions of Employment Pass a thorough background investigation before appointment.
