Description

ESC has an exciting opportunity for a Procurement Specialist - Construction & Robotics to join our premier robotics client in North Reading, MA . This 6-month contract role, with the potential for extension or conversion, supports the Industrial Robotics Group (IRG) by managing procurement activities for large-scale construction and manufacturing initiatives. Working closely with engineering, program management, and operations teams, you'll support vendor onboarding, sourcing activities, purchase order management, pricing analysis, and procurement reporting while helping build scalable procurement processes for a rapidly growing organization.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with construction procurement or industrial sourcing experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment with significant visibility across multiple business functions.

Key Activities

• Partner with engineering, program management, and operations teams to develop purchasing requirements and submit purchase orders.
• Source suppliers and support vendor selection, onboarding, and ongoing supplier performance management.
• Coordinate vendor outreach, NDA execution, and procurement documentation throughout the sourcing lifecycle.
• Support competitive bidding activities by organizing supplier quotations, conducting bid comparisons, and assisting with pricing analysis.
• Manage Requests for Proposal (RFPs) and procurement workflows while coordinating timelines with internal stakeholders.
• Build and maintain procurement reports, dashboards, and key performance metrics using Excel and Tableau.
• Support procurement systems including Coupa, ERP/MRP platforms, JIRA, and PLM tools.
• Analyze procurement data to identify cost savings, process improvements, and operational efficiencies.
• Collaborate with Strategic Sourcing leadership to support sourcing initiatives and supplier strategies.
• Maintain supplier databases, purchasing records, and procurement documentation with a high degree of accuracy.
• Leverage AI tools and analytics to improve procurement reporting and workflow automation.
• Ensure data integrity and maintain best practices across procurement systems and reporting tools.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related field.
• 3-5+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, supply chain, purchasing, or manufacturing environments.
• Strong experience supporting procurement activities including RFPs, vendor management, pricing analysis, and purchase orders.
• Experience working with ERP/MRP systems such as Oracle, SAP, Odoo, Ariba, Jaggaer, or similar platforms.
• Experience using procurement platforms such as Coupa.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to analyze large datasets.
• Experience creating reports and dashboards using Tableau or similar visualization tools.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple procurement activities simultaneously.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment with multiple stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Construction procurement experience involving commercial construction, industrial facilities, infrastructure, or robotics manufacturing.
• Experience sourcing construction materials and services including steel, concrete, mechanical/electrical contractors, or general contractors.
• Experience with PLM systems such as Siemens Teamcenter.
• Experience using JIRA for project or workflow management.
• Knowledge of AI-powered analytics, Python, SQL, or procurement automation tools.
• Lean Six Sigma or continuous improvement experience.
• Experience supporting large enterprise organizations.
• Previous experience supporting robotics, advanced manufacturing, or technology organizations.
