Registered Nurse - Cardiac Cath LabJob Title: Registered Nurse - Cardiac Cath LabProfession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Cardiac Cath Lab Duration: 12-week assignment Shift: 8-hour Days Hours per Shift: 0630-1500 + call Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: Valid RN license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Certification, NIHSS Must-Have: Candidates must have pre or post-op experience. Experience with emergent stroke cases is helpful.Description: The unit primarily runs three cardiac catheterization labs at a time. The average number of cases per day varies from 5 to 15. Types of cases include electrophysiology procedures, implantable cardioverter-defibrillators, pacemakers, and ablations. All staff are cross-trained for monitoring cases. Registered Nurses circulate and monitor the cases alongside Scrub Techs. There are three personnel assigned to each case. The facility uses a GE MacLab/Combo Lab Hemodynamic Monitoring System. Call requirement is approximately 10-11 days per month, including one weekend. Registered Nurses are responsible for patient care, including cardiac, peripheral, neuro, and traumatic embolization.
