We are seeking an Estimator with 2–8 years of estimating experience in commercial construction. The ideal candidate has experience estimating both ground-up and renovation/remodel projects and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects at various stages of development.

Position Summary

The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and competitive bids for retail and commercial construction projects nationwide. This individual will work closely with Project Managers, Preconstruction, Operations, and subcontractors to develop budgets, evaluate project risks, and ensure successful project pursuits.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed conceptual, budgetary, and hard bid estimates for commercial construction projects.
• Estimate both ground-up and tenant improvement/remodel projects.
• Review plans, specifications, addenda, and contract documents.
• Perform quantity takeoffs using estimating software and construction documents.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids.
• Analyze project risks and identify value engineering opportunities.
• Develop scopes of work for subcontractors and suppliers.
• Prepare bid packages and proposal documents.
• Coordinate with Project Managers and Operations during project turnover.
• Maintain current knowledge of construction costs, labor markets, and material pricing.
• Assist with preconstruction planning and budgeting.
• Participate in bid review meetings and project handoffs.
• Build and maintain relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and clients.

Qualifications

• 2–8 years of estimating experience in commercial construction.
• Experience on projects ranging from $1M to $50M
• Experience estimating retail, restaurant, grocery, healthcare, or other commercial projects preferred.
• Experience with both ground-up construction and interior remodel/renovation projects .
• Strong understanding of commercial construction methods and building systems.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and civil drawings.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field (preferred but not required).
• Experience with estimating software such as:
• Wrike
• Fieldwire, Bluebeam
• Procore, PlanSwift, Builder Trend, PlanGrid
• Sage Estimating
• On-Screen Takeoff
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience working for a General Contractor.
