Position Overview

\n

Central Maine Medical Center, in partnership with Prime Healthcare, is seeking a dedicated OB Hospitalist / Nocturnist to join our growing Womens Health team. This position offers a unique opportunity to provide high-quality, patient-centered obstetric care in a supportive, collaborative environment during overnight hours.

\n

The ideal candidate is a confident, clinically strong physician who thrives in an autonomous night role while working closely with nursing staff, medical students, residents and support staff. We do approximately 900 deliveries annually and have a Level II NICU with in-house pediatrics and anesthesia.

• Nocturnist position (11 shifts/month. Mostly nights with some weekend daytime coverage)

\n
• Provide in-house overnight obstetric coverage
\n
• Manage labor & delivery triage, admissions, and emergencies
\n
• Perform vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections as needed
\n
• Respond to OB emergencies, including fetal distress and urgent interventions
\n
• Collaborate with OB/GYN physicians, midwives, anesthesia, and NICU teams
\n
• Ensure timely documentation and adherence to clinical protocols
\n
• Support patient safety and quality initiatives
\n

\n \n \n Qualifications\n

\n

\n

\n

\n
• MD or DO, Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics & Gynecology
\n
• Active or eligible for medical licensure in Maine
\n
• Strong experience in labor & delivery and obstetric emergencies
\n
• Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
\n
• Fluent in Lingala, French, Portuguese, or Somali is a bonus
\n

\n \n \n Pay Transparency\n

\n

\n

\n

Central Maine Medical Center offers competitive compensation and a reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $340,000 to $402,000. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
