FULL TIME - DIESEL MECHANIC ASSISTANT

Overview Diesel Mechanic Assistant — We are seeking a Diesel Mechanic Assistant to assist with heavy truck and related equipment repair for our beverage distribution company in Hampton, VA. This entry-level technician will be proficient in basic preventative vehicle maintenance with a willingness and aptitude to learn and assist with more complex fleet diagnostics and repairs. Schedule: Full Time | Tuesdays - Saturdays Responsibilities Assist Lead Diesel Mechanic in all repairs and diagnostics both in the shop and roadside. Deliver vehicles to off-site repair shops. Complete preventative maintenance such as oil changes, windshield wiper replacements, electrical system repairs, and cooling system maintenance on gas and diesel engine vehicles. Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) in a thorough and timely manner. Other duties assigned as needed. Qualifications 1+ year mechanical experience working with vehicles (diesel engines preferred). Must have a valid driver's license (Class A license required after 6 months of employment). Possess working mechanical knowledge, including the use of hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices. Must have excellent organizational and communication skills. Physical Requirements Ability to frequently kneel, bend, squat, push, pull, and reach. Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs. without assistance. Must be able to get into and out of various vehicles without assistance. Must pass a DOT physical including drug screening.
