The opportunity We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Consultant to join EY engagement teams, deliver consulting services, and develop business with clients in the life insurance, group benefits, and retirement sectors. In this role, you will help clients achieve their business objectives and gain experience across the insurance value chain: product development, sales/distribution, new business/underwriting, policy administration, and claims. Your Key Responsibilities Consistently deliver high-quality client services. Understand and communicate complex operational insurance issues and build relationships with client personnel. Monitor progress, manage risk, and keep stakeholders informed of engagement progress and expected outcomes. Stay abreast of industry trends relevant to clients’ businesses. Understand process design and industry pain points. Demonstrate in-depth domain knowledge, technical capabilities, and strong business acumen. Present industry and client findings to leadership. Stay current on new developments in consulting services capabilities and industry knowledge. Apply professional standards and firm policies. Commit to developing a strong personal brand by staying informed on economic and market developments. To qualify for this role you must have Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, Business, Economics, or related disciplines. Minimum of 3‑5 years of consulting and/or industry experience in life insurance, annuities, retirement, or group benefits. Strong oral and written communication skills, including executive presentation skills. Experience assessing and improving business processes, systems, and associated technologies. Understanding of insurance products and the insurance operations lifecycle. Experience documenting business processes related to insurance operations. Experience with one or more of the following functions: product development, sales/distribution, new business, underwriting, post‑issue servicing, policy administration, and/or claims. Availability to travel to client sites as necessary. Ideally, you’ll also have Advanced degree in a related discipline.
