## Refrigeration Technician-LeadApplylocations: North Carolina - St. Pauls Planttime type: Full timeposted on: Posted Todayjob requisition id: 2026-60975Shift: 1stPay: $34.85**PRIMARY FUNCTION:**Primarily responsible for maintaining, operating, inspecting, and repairing various types of ammonia refrigeration equipment for a poultry processing plant. Performs preventative and predictive maintenance; periodically tests and inspects to verify equipment is operating within manufacturer’s specifications and tolerances; troubleshoots equipment problems and repairs as needed. Performs all work in compliance with company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations **RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:*** Independently manage the daily operations of the ammonia refrigeration compressor room; follow blueprints and diagrams to diagnose complex problems and repair units* Take and record required system readings, understand the implications of variances; report to appropriate personnel/leader* Identify root cause of complex mechanical system issues and repair or notify appropriate personnel if unable to complete* Perform routine predictive and preventative maintenance on equipment as needed and/or scheduled* Identify unsafe conditions; corrects or reports to appropriate personnel if unable to correct on own* Direct the work of others and is a “go-to” for questions and concerns in relation to task performance in the absence of supervisor or superintendent at their direction* Verify blueprint and operating manuals and procedures are current as needed* Train entry level personnel* Work in compliance with all company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations* All other duties as assigned**EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS:*** High School Diploma or equivalent* NOCTI HVAC/Refrigeration test Level 1, 2 and 3 certified* Pass NOCTI HVAC/Refrigeration test, Level 4 required****EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:***** Minimum 3 years’ experience in running, maintaining and repairing ammonia refrigeration equipment* Intermediate math and computer skills* Expert knowledge and understanding of all functions and components of ammonia refrigeration equipment* Thorough knowledge of relevant electrical and general mechanical systems* Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivate* Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended shift hours* Sound work ethic, honesty and moral character**SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:*** Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs* Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times in areas where required.)**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:*** Stand up to 8 hours.* Lift up to 60 lbs.* May be exposed to heat (99oF, 37oC) and cold (45oF, 4oC)* Exposure to wet and dusty environment.* Frequently reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling and crawling.* Roll and push buggies (~1,000 lbs.)* Work around raw, live animal odors #J-18808-Ljbffr
