Responsibilities Assessment & Diagnosis: Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical histories, physical exams, and diagnostic testing. Diagnosis: Identify and diagnose acute, chronic, and complex health conditions. Treatment Planning: Develop individualized care plans that address patient needs, including treatment goals and expected outcomes. Prescribing: Prescribe medications, therapies, and medical devices. Requirements Conditions of employment Selectee may be subject to a probationary period U.S. Citizenship is required Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959 This is a designated position covered by Public Law 101-630, requiring contact or control over Indian children. The agency must ensure that hires have not been found guilty of certain crimes. Confidential Financial Disclosure Form required. IHS Selectees may be subject to Employee Health Policies related to Measles and Rubella, and seasonal influenza immunizations. Vaccine exemption requests may be available. The selected individual is required to obtain and maintain medical staff clinical privileges, including licensure requirements. If privileges are not obtained or maintained, actions may be taken up to removal from Federal service. Successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check. Background Investigation Requirement: This position requires the successful completion of a federal background investigation as a condition of employment. Qualifications To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education to perform the duties of the specific position. Experience includes paid and unpaid work, including volunteer service. You must clearly identify duties and responsibilities and total hours per week. Education : A graduate or higher-level degree (nursing) from an accredited program. The program must be accredited by a recognized nursing accrediting body at the time the degree was obtained. Degree from Foreign Nursing School: Official certification from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools is required for graduates of foreign nursing schools. Advanced Practice Nurse Positions : Applicants must possess a graduate or higher-level degree in nursing in the indicated specialty (e.g., Midwifery). Licensure : Must have passed the National Council Licensure Examination and hold a current, active, unrestricted license/registration as a professional nurse in the United States. Additional license requirements for Advanced Practice Nurse positions apply. Education (continued) Basic requirements by grade level are detailed in the original posting. This position has an education requirement. You are encouraged to submit transcripts. Official transcripts are required from selectees prior to an official offer. Other Information Financial Suitability: A review of financial history is required as part of the personnel security determination.
